This outdated Goodman high efficiency gas furnace and air conditioning system had seen much better days. The condenser coil and base of unit had completely disintegrated due to years of repeated exposure to dog urine. The pad was completely unsupported in the back right corner due to poor drainage eroding the soil from underneath it. The furnace was rotting from the inside out due to years of coil freezes and acidic water leaks. This system had served its purpose over the course of nearly 20 years, however it was far beyond repair. It has likely been running at significantly reduced capacity for years.

This new Ameristar high efficiency natural gas and air conditioning system was installed in its place. A load calculation was done to accommodate square footage added to the house beyond its original installation date. The new furnace is now equipped with a Honeywell 4" Media Filter, Acid Neutralizer, and Cased Coil to ensure longevity, serviceability, and code compliance. The new condensing unit was placed over a framed and leveled bed of drainage rock to prevent uneven settling. The suction line was insulated to increase efficiency and reduce sweating. The homeowners were ecstatic with the end result.
